Fassmer Awarded Contract for Four Training Boats (SAMSe mod) for the German Navy

Berne, 25 February 2026: On 23 February 2026, Fr. Fassmer GmbH & Co. KG signed a contract in Koblenz with the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw). The contract covers the construction and delivery of four training boats under the project "Seebasierte Ausbildung und Seeversuche See (modifiziert)"  for the German Navy. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of BAAINBw President Annette Lehnigk-Emden and Harald Fassmer. Delivery of the first unit is scheduled for the end of 2028.

The fourth amendment contract forms part of the overall project “Seebasierte Ausbildung Marine und Seeversuche See WTD” (SAMSe). As part of the modernization of the German Navy’s training units, four training boats – designated SAMSe (mod) – will be procured. In the future, they will serve as training platforms, particularly for nautical training of naval personnel and for conducting the “Überleben auf See” course.

Fassmer already designed, built and delivered two boats of this type as "Erprobungsboote Seeversuche Küste" for the German Armed Forces Technical Center for Ships and Naval Weapons, Maritime Technology and Research (WTD 71). With this follow-up order, the company continues its proven cooperation with BAAINBw.

“The renewed contract confirms the capability of our team and the appreciation for on-time delivery, adherence to the agreed budget and the quality of the previously built SV-Küste units,” says Harald Fassmer, Managing Director of Fassmer. “We are pleased to contribute to the future-oriented training of the German Navy with these four additional boats.”
